Hard materials for industrial applications

High mechanical resistant properties are of great importance for many components used in the manufacturing industry. Mainly used are composites such as metal carbides (tungsten, titanium, chromium), ceramics, ruby and sapphire.

Special knowledge is required to be able to process such materials mechanically. Our partners, often also suppliers to the Swiss watch industry, are specialists and have many years of experience in this area.

High-precision parts and RoHS-compatibility

Parts made of ruby, sapphire and ceramics are extremely hard, can be polished to a high finish and have the ability of being micromachined, which makes them an excellent choice for parts that need to be very precise as well as very resistant. Together with a high level of chemical-, thermal- and mechanical wear resistance, the materials have a wide range of uses. As the materials are RoHS compliant, they are very well accepted in medical- and analytical equipment.

Small and precise hole diameters

The most common applications for hard materials are wear-resistant machine parts, coatings and for special tools. They are also very often used as inserts for advanced nozzles for printing, medical or waterjet cutting technology. In some hard materials, hole diameters of 0.04 mm can be realized.
